Trial WireTM is a
free, web-based tool used to de-identify
(anonymize), organize and transfer DICOM
images (.dcm extension) sourced from imaging modalities such as CT, PET,
PET-CT and MRI. Any image that is
compliant with the DICOM standard can be transferred to and from any web
enabled computer in the world. All
de-identification is carried out on the local machine by the Trial Wire applet
before being transferred to another computer.
As an added bonus, Trial Wire also automatically produces an audit trail to keep track of any
changes and comments to the DICOM headers.
This is extremely useful as it helps with HIPAA compliance.
IXICO originally designed Trial Wire as in-house tool to allow clinical
sites to securely upload DICOM data electronically to IXICO servers. It not only accelerated drug development but also saved considerable costs by avoiding courier fees. Clinical sites use Trial Wire to perform QC
checks on the data to ensure that the data is the right patient, timepoint, etc
and that it is properly de-identified. The quality parameters are set by IXICO at
the beginning of the trial to ensure that the trial protocol is adhered to across
all the sites taking part. As part of
IXICO’s full solution, providing end to
end medical imaging services, from site management to data analysis and
management, Trial Wire is still routinely used by imaging experts on a number
of active imaging trials across the world.
IXICO’s believes that no one
should have to pay to simply de-identify and transfer data. By offering Trial Wire for free to anyone in the medical imaging
community, we hope to revolutionize your
workflow and provide you with the ease
and flexibility of transferring DICOM data electronically wherever you want
to. All DICOM users can use Trial Wire
so go ahead and recommend Trial Wire to your imaging college, we want to help
